Social Media

We created a twitter account in order for us to connect with our audience and as a way to share our movie. On our twitter we post updates about what we are getting up to an fun behind the scenes content.

Sound

Evidence of Editing

In todays lesson we decided to edit our title sequence again to improve it and try to make it the best quality that we could. We added in the additional shots that we filmed previously and it honestly improved the whole final piece majorly.

Here's a shot of Piotr editing the clip of where an image is set on fire. He's double checking it making sure that the timing is right and that the length of the clip fits in with the rest of the sequence.

Rough Cut 2 Feedback

We improved our rough cut and added more shots. When showed to viewers, this is the feedback that we received:

  • Good use of lighting. The main items stood out and the way they were filmed made our attention focus on the individual objects.
  • Tempo needs to be changed. Not enough tension was created which limits how effective the title sequence could be.
  • Include ambient sound effects. Adding different sounds here and there could really enhance the title sequence and create a whole different atmosphere.
  • Make sure that it's the right length so that there's enough time for the storyline to be put across.

Evidence Of Filming 2

After completing our first rough cut, we realised that we didn't have enough shots and that more different elements were needed. Because of this we decided to film some more shots in order to improve our title sequence.

There weren't many shots of the board which was one of the key elements of the title sequence so we filmed a few more. Different angles and also moving shots created more definition and dimension.

We also shot more scenes with the main character and her shrine/ favourite table. The lipstick and the Rose are the most important props so having more involvement of both props was crucial.

In order for the storyline to make more sense and be easy to understand for the audience, I thought that including more shots of the ex-boyfriends would create a clearer message. Having short shots of them tied up and in pain will let the audience know how Rose(the main character) is very violent and there's more hidden messages behind her innocent face.

Title sequence rough cut

Evidence of editing of first rough cut.

First we had to create gradient overlays in photoshop to get the right effect on the clips.

Then we cut all the clips and placed them in the right order

Then we applied the previously made overlays to the clips. with slight varieties of brightness and positioning.

Finally, we rendered and exported the video.

Evidence of filming

Before filming, we had to create and collect our props and also pick our location. We filmed on three days, it took us two lessons to finish getting together our mise-en-scene, creating our link chart and filling in the diary. Our filming days were very busy even though we were only located in one room, on the last day of filming we went out to film our establishing shot of the front of a building.

Feedback Recieved

Whilst doing our pitch our teacher and peers were evaluating us and gave us feedback at the end, here is what they had to say:

Rebecca our teacher: "The choice of mise-en-scene is great and very well thought out and detailed, there is a clear story line and you explained it very well. You should make sure the title is followed by more action so it doesn't look like a trailer and don't forget an establishing shot"

One group said that they like our ident and they thought the plot seemed very interesting.
Another group suggested that we could have used more images in our pitch however they liked our style of presentation and the use or Prezi and Slides.

Well done:

  • Very detailed about ideas and what is going to happen.
  • Original
  • Well explained
  • Detailed mise-en-scene
  • Great ident
  • Interesting
  • Good style of presentation
  • Good examples

What next:

  • Record sounds
  • Photo of room 333
  • Establishing shot
  • More lighting
  • Target audience research
  •  Use more media and visuals eg. photos, videos
