BFI statistical yearbook (task 11)

Animation, Action and Comedy were the most successful at the UK box office. With Romance, Documentary and War the least successful. Comedy released the most films in 2013-14 and made 153, with Hangover part 3 being the most popular. Only 33 animated films were released and Despicable Me 2 topped the charts. 47 actions films were made and Iron Man 3 came out on top.

The most cinema admissions were made by 15-24 age group  and The Hangover Part 3 was the most popular with them.

The over 50's enjoyed UK independent films the most including Sunshine on Leith. Men preferred Action, Comedy and Thrillers, while women preferred a broad range of films. The 7-14 age group enjoyed films like, One Direction: This Is Us, Wreck It Ralph and Despicable me 2 showing that they favorite Animations. Frozen, The Croods and Jack and The Giant Slayer were popular with the 35-44 age group this is most likely because they take their children to the cinema to watch Animated films. The 25-34 age group enjoyed, Django Unchained, Fast and Furious 6 and Rush.

Middle class audiences preferred films like Captain Phillips, Rush, Oz the Great and Powerful. By the data i saw i could tell that in Scotland they prefer to watch UK made films than we do in London.
