Genre is a type or a category of film or music, sub genre is more or less a genre that is within a genre. A sub genre is used to make it more specific what type of film it is. Hybrid genre is 2 genres combined, for example rom-com (romantic comedies) or Action Thriller. These types of genres are very good at including a very wide audience as it appeals to many types of people, for example rom-com's appeal to both men and women as stereotypically, women like romantic films and men like comedies.
My three favourite genres are Comedies, Action and Horror.
My favourite comedy is superbad, this film follows many codes and conventions of a comedy, including 'down to earth' characters and realistic scenarios.
My favourite action film is the transporter. This is a very good example of an action film as most of the movie, the protagonists is fighting many bad guys with an occasional explosion.
My favourite Horror films Are the Saw series, especially the first one. this is because it isn't just a compilation of jump scares and dark houses, the movie makes you think and has big plot twists.
